Walter “Pete” C. Maney Of Susquehanna. Pa. Walter C. Maney,85, of Susquehanna, Pa. passed away Sunday April 15, 2012 at the Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna after an illness. He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary Ellen Maney in 1996 and grandson Michael Croft and son-in-law Jay VanDuser. Walter is survived by two sons William and Marilyn Maney; David and Rebecca Maney; one daughter Linda VanDuser and Charles Callahan; granddaughter Angela and M. Kariim Ratcliff; six great grandchildren Ameerah, D’Angelo, Kalimah, Khaliq, Qadir and Jada; two sisters-in-law Elizabeth Martin, Theresa and Darrel Whitney; friends Cyrena Kuss, Louise Bagnall, Patricia Tarbox. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II, and a life member of the American Legion Post #86 of Susquehanna and a member of the First Baptist Church of Susquehanna. He retired from the Erie Railroad as a carpenter after many years of service. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 19th at 10:30am at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna with Pastor Gary Day officiating. Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery in Susquehanna, Pa. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Susquehanna. The family would like to thank his care givers; Barnes Kasson Hospital Staff and Dr. B. Patel.
