Warner Andrew Burdick, Sr., 83, of Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023, after a long illness.
Warner was predeceased by his wife Margaret L. Burdick, son Joseph J. Burdick, parents Donald and Vivian Burdick, sister Phyllis French.
Warner is survived by his children; David & Robin Burdick of Thompson, PA, Chip & Kim Burdick of Melrose, PA, Patricia & Steven Lynch of Susquehanna, PA, and Barbara & Anthony Fiore of Myrtle Beach, SC; he is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Andrew Burdick, Lindsey Burdick, Kasey Burdick, Abby Burdick, David Vales, Nick Vales; 4 great grandchildren; Owen, Viktor, Ava, and Lydia; brothers Gary Burdick and Joseph & Cindy Burdick; sister Rosemary & Cleon Lloyd; sisters-in-law Marilyn Wanatt and Mary Brown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Warner was born in Starrucca, PA on January 2, 1940. He graduated from Susquehanna Community High School in 1958. After graduation, Warner enlisted in the United States Army. He spent most of his military career in Baumholder, Germany.
After serving in the military, Warner returned to Susquehanna, PA and married the love of his life, Margaret L. Brown, on September 8, 1962.
Warner retired as a sales manager from Kost Tire after 40 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 86 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 794, where he served on the board of directors for over 40 years. He received several state and national recognitions and awards from Mooseheart for his dedication, commitment and years of service.
Prior to Warner’s illness he enjoyed; hunting, golfing, bowling, and spending winters in Zephyrhills, Florida. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. But above all else, he was a loving husband and father who always put his family’s needs before his own.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA 18847, from 11 am to 12 pm with a Memorial Service at the Funeral Home immediately following.
Interment will be held in the Lanesboro Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barnes-Kasson Hospital, 2872 Turnpike St. Susquehanna, PA 18847 or Susquehanna Fire Department, 43 Erie Blvd, Susquehanna, PA 18847.
