Wayne Dix Arthur Of Susquehanna, PA Wayne Dix Arthur passed away at the age of 88 on August 28, 2021 in his hometown of Susquehanna, PA with his family by his side. Wayne was born on October 12, 1932 to Charles and Mildred (Dix) Arthur. He served his country in the Air Force from 1949-1953 before going on to operate a blacktop business with his father. Wayne had a 32-year career with the railroad and drove school bus for the Susquehanna Community School District. Wayne enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and ATV riding. Fondly known as “Wacky” to his friends and family, Wayne served as the namesake to Wacky’s Wacky Weekend, which spanned several memorable years. Wayne coached Little League for 7 years and was a member of the Masons, VFW, Moose Lodge 794 and American Legion. Wayne was the loving husband of Joan (Cowperthwait) for 69 years. Together they shared 4 children; Denise Murphy, Debbie (Don) Norris, deceased infant son Richard and Donald (Frances) Arthur; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Wayne is predeceased by his brothers, Warrick (Bert), Charles (Sharon); brothers-in-law Gary Cowperthwait and Lloyd Colpitts. Wayne is also survived by his sister-in-law Marion Colpitts. A Memorial Service will be held on September 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 1361 Main St., Susquehanna, PA. Friends and family are invited to attend.
