William Joseph Vandermark Jr. Of Deposit, NY William “Bill” J. Vandermark Jr., 68, of Deposit, NY passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 18, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his parents William & Jean Vandermark Sr. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Susan Vandermark; children Steven & Kimmie Sue Vandermark, Erin & Adam Gabriel, Kristin & Joshua Simeone, Ryan & Kaila Vandermark; grandchildren Bryanna, Vera and Autumn Vandermark, Ella and William Gabriel, Sophia and Anthony Simeone, Hunter, Rhett, and Hayes Vandermark; brothers Kurt & Sherry Vandermark and David & Donna Vandermark; sisters Marsha & Tony Rossello, Wendy & Ron Begeal, Denise & William Helsel; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was born and raised in Deposit, NY and graduated from Deposit Central High School. After high school he went to work for the railroad and was employed by them for 43 years until his retirement. He was a lifetime member and past Assistant Chief of the Deposit Fire Department. Bill also belonged to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Deposit, NY. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering in the garage, mowing his lawn. Bill was known as “Papa” to his grandchildren whom he adored and loved to spend time with. He will be dearly missed by all his loving family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, November 22, 2021, at 1pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Second St. Deposit, NY. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 11am till 1pm.
